Put your money where your mouth is!

So I just got a call from the blonde knight and we chatted about the Challenge Around the Republic of Hout Bay. Egos were put out there. Predictions made. So I started to think….

Will Robinson is where I put my money. Last year’s winner in 4h21. He has run well this year (3rd in OFTC, 2nd Addo 100 and an easy 3h15 at the Knysna Marathon last weekend.
Mark Preen: Winner in 2006 in 4h32. I recon he will finish top 2 and win Vets.
Ryan Sandes could be in for a podium position but not quite quick enough to give the top two serious issues. Definitely top 5.
Stuart Purcell: Sub 5h should be quite easy for him but not sure if he is able to make it onto the podium.
Dion Middlekoop should do a top three for sure. Just depends how well he has recovered from injury and Rhodes!
Jade Butler: Sub 4h45 is going to be close but doable! With a bit of luck this will be good enough to get a top 5.

The women’s race could be interesting
Candice Davidson won at VWS by a clear margin. But Tatum Loftus (Prins) came a very close second last year. If she remembers to tie her shoe laces real tight I recon it could be another sprint across the beach.
Caroline Hanks could be in the mix.
Local Linda Doke should be giving the girls something to think about.
Dain Hamilton should be in the top 5.
